Texas Revue is the largest student-run talent show sponsored by The University Co-op. Ran entirely by students, recruitment for members and show preparation starts at the beginning of the fall semester. With the combined efforts and tactics of the logistics and publicity subcommittees, an exciting and entertaining showcase of UT's finest talent is produced.
The talent show capitalizes on diversity, so have no fear - there is no possible way you will end up dozing off in your seat. This year's performances will include a slam poet, a mash-up/brother duo, a Bollywood-themed dance team, and even Chinese yo-yo.
Newcomers will make compete side by side with Texas Revue veterans such as the hip-hop dance team, Redefined Dance. Check out their performance at last year's show.
Acts consisting entirely of UT students are eligible to win the grand prize given by The University Co-op for $1,500.
Texas Revue will also have an impressive, diverse panel of judges. Whether a rockstar, dean, or critically-acclaimed blogger - these experienced professionals know talent.
As a member of the Logistics Committee I participated in judging the auditions. Although it was a tough decision, I walked away very pleased (and equally impressed) with the acts chosen. Take my word - it's going to be a fabulous show and you won't want to miss out. And the best part? IT'S FREE. So make sure to be at Bass Concert Hall (on San Jacinto Blvd. across from the Darrell K. Royal Stadium) before 7 p.m. this Saturday. You won't regret it.
